The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful, and enhances the immersion and understanding of the world around you in beautiful ways, while also having a well done sound design capable of working together with the soundtrack to make each area feel unique and memorable. ![]() The animation fits the gameplay well, while the controls are instant and responsive, the animation suits it making it absurdly satisfying to fight bosses and enemies, while not being as beautiful and the art style of other metroidvanias like Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps, the sequel shows signs of an upgraded and more detailed art style which can make the world feel even more lively. Art style is pretty impressive with well done and well executed hand-drawn animations in beautiful and alive sections filled with life, moving creatures and vegetation, and creepy and morbid sections filled with the scary feeling of the unknown and the tragedy of Hallownest being constantly reminded at you through subtle and not so subtle hints, the orange zombie-ish glow in the eyes of every infected bug and the dead and infected corpses of other bugs scattered through the entire land. Gameplay is the best I've even experienced, the controls are fluid, instant and responsive, every move happens at the moment you expect it to happen when pressing the button, while also having tons of gimmicks which enhance the experience completely.
